A lot of tourists asked about travel restrictions or travel bans from Mainland China regarding covid 19. Like the rest of China, the local government applies the following policies:
From risk free zone to Hainan Island:
The personnel in the risk-free area (no travel history in the risk area within 7 days) is requested to present the Health Code Green code, and take nucleic acid test, then can leave the airport. Most areas of Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou are risk-free zone.
To Hainan Island from overseas
So far, there is no direct flight from overseas to Hainan Island. So, it is not possible to travel from overseas to Hainan Island. So, if you travel from aboard to Mainland China, and have done your 7 days of quarantine and 3 days of home isolation, then you are ok to travel to Hainan Island from a risk-free zone to Hainan Island.
Travel to Hainan from low-risk areas:
Please bring 48 hours a nucleic acid negative report with you to board your flight. After landing at the airports, or train stations, you will take one test, and you are requested to take another test on the third day. The hotels you will be staying will ask you for the report.
From a Medium-risk area to Hainan Island:
Take 7-day home isolation; If you do not have the conditions for home isolation medical observation, take centralized isolation medical observation; The management period starts from leaving the risk area. Nucleic acid tests are required on the 1st, 4th, and 7th day of isolation period.
Travel from high-risk area to Hainan Island:
No one is possible to leave from high-risk area, not to say traveling to Hainan Island.
There is one simple rule to check weather if you can travel to Hainan Island without restriction:
If you could move around freely without any restrictions in your city, then you are ok to travel to Hainan Island.

To Beijing: 48-hours negative report and Beijing Health Code.
To Shanghai: 72-hours negative report.
Other cities: some request 48 hours negative report, some not, so please prepare a report just in case.
