Five Finger Mountain or Wuzhishan Mountain is the name of the Highest Mountain on Hainan Island. Hainan Five FIinger Mountain is also the name of the city where Hainan Five Finger Mountain is located. The city at the foot of Wuzhishan Mountain is named after the Wuzhishan Mountain Wuzhishan City.
Hainan Five Finger Mountain/Wuzhishan Mountain, the symbol of Hainan Island, is located right in the middle of Hainan Island with a total area of 1130 square kilometers.
The region has been listed by the International Tourism Organization in recognition of its supreme natural scenery which comprises one of the few natural rain forests surviving in the world today. It takes 2.5 hours by local bus from Sanya, 3 hours from Haikou.
Climate of Wuzhishan:
The climate of Wuzhishan is that of a typical tropical rainforest, with many rain showers all year round. The average temperature is 22.6 degree’s centigrade (73 Fahrenheit) and the average rain is 1690MM. Wuzhishan is the best place to get rid of the heat from April to October on Hainan Island where the average temperature is 26 degree’s centigrade (79 Fahrenheit) in July. Yon don’t see many places in Wuzhishan with Air Conditioners as the temperature difference is around 10 degrees between Sanya & Wuzhishan. Winter time is a not cold at all with the average temperature being around 17 degrees centigrade(63 Fahrenheit), At it is tropical rainforest area, the average humidity is around 80% year round and rains almost every day in the afternoon or in the morning during the summer time (April-October).

Travel tips/Travel Guide for visitors to Wuzhishan City Hainan/Hainan Five Finger Mountain :
1、Bring an umbrella as rainstorms are a common occurrence in Wuzhishan Hainan/Hainan Five Finger Mountain! If you are climbing the five finger mountain, prepare your rain coat.
2、Bring your coat even it is hot when you leave Sanya. The temperature difference could be 10-15 degrees compared with Sanya.
3、Language:
Wuzhishan Hainan/Hainan Five Finger Mountain is still very local place. Don’t expect any one in town to understand your English. But there is a university here there are many students who would love to help you and practice their English. The Qiongzhou University is right on the way to the Hainan Minority Museum.

Climbing Hainan Five Finger Mountain or Wuizhishan Mountain:
Wuzhishan is tropical rainforest, so mountain climbing is the most important thing to do during your Wuzhishan Trip. The entrance fee costs CNY50/person. There are 2 paths: one is easier one with wooden steps ready and it takes around 2 hours for round trip. The other is really challenge which takes 4-6 hours to be at one of the summits, and around 2 hours coming down. To climb Wuzhishan Mountain, you must visit Shuimantown first. The best option is to stay one night in Shuimanyuan hotel and climb the mountain the next morning. It is really challenging of your energy and courage, so we recommend this trip to the strong tourists, not for family with aged or young kids less than 12 years old.
Wuzhishan River Rafting:
Operated by the same owner at Shuimanyuan hotel, river rafting is also interesting in Wuzhishan, around 4 hours along Nansheng River. But it depends on the weather conditions. It is only available in summer raining season. On weekdays, this service is available for a group of min. 30 pax, and on weekend during summer raining season, it is possible to have this tour, and the cost is around CNY200/person.
Hainan Minority Museum:
located in Wuzhishan Town, the museum is a good place to know more about Hainan Minority and Hainan’s history. Some exhibitions are in English, but most are in Chinese. So it is better to book a tour guide with us in advance at CNY600/day.
Wuzhishan Strolling:
if none of the above fits you, then the best is to stay in Wuzhishan Town or Shuiman Town, and explore the city, the town on your feet. As Wuzhishan is not popular destination for tourists to Hainan Island, it still keeps a real Hainan flavor.
