Hainan increased Tax-free shopping quota to CNY100,000 from July, 1, 2020

Hainan Duty-Free Annual Quota to CNY100,000:

China’s Hainan Province increased its annual tax-free shopping quota for travelers. With effect from Wednesday, July 1, the quota was raised to 100,000 yuan (about 14,123 U.S. dollars) per person each year from the current 30,000 yuan. The categories of duty-free goods were also been expanded.

 

Duty-Free Shopping Centers in Hainan:

Caddie made a tour on July 1 to Haitang Bay Duty-Free Shopping Center, the biggest duty-free shopping center on Hainan Island so far. The rest three are: Haikou Riyue Shopping Center (in Haikou City Center), Haikou Meilan Airport Duty-Free Shop, and Boao Duty-Free Shop (In Boao Asia Forum Hotel)

Yes, there were more tourists than before at Sanya Haitang Bay Duty-Free Shopping Center.

How to benefit from Hainan Tax-Free Shopping Policy:

Tourists must present their ID/passport upon billing with valid flights/train information in a month and collect their goods at Sanya/Haikou  Train Station upon departure. For those who wish to take away from the duty-free shopping center upon billing, tourists should pay all taxes and get tax refund upon departure.
