Situated in Tanmen Town, approximately 9 km from Boao Town on Hainan Island, the China (Hainan) South China Sea Museum has been welcoming visitors since April 26, 2018. Spanning an expansive area of 70,593 square meters, the museum offers free public access.

The museum is organized into two main sections. The South section boasts 8 exhibition halls and an outdoor open area, while the North section serves as a versatile space featuring meeting rooms, a reception area, souvenir shops, and restaurants.
With around 70,000 diverse collections, including historical relics, South China Sea biological specimens, and intricate ship models, the museum provides an enriching experience. Regular exhibitions cover a range of topics, from historical figures associated with the South China Sea to the captivating South China Sea Ecology Show. Thus, the museum serves as an educational hub, offering insights into the ecology and history of the South China Sea.
Reservation Details:
Advance reservations are mandatory for all visitors. Tickets can be obtained upon presenting valid passports. Operating every day from 9 am to 5 pm, the museum is closed on Mondays. To make reservations, contact the museum at 0898-62605666.
