Where is the Museum? 

The Museum is located in Tanmen Town, about 9 KM from Boao Town Hainan Island. China (Hainan) South China Sea Museum is open to public free of charge from April. 26, 2018, occupying an area of 70,593 sq. meters.

What to see?

There are mainly 2 sections in the Museum. The South section has 8 exhibition halls and one outdoor open area. The North section works mainly as a multi-function hall with meeting rooms, reception area, souvenirs sales, and restaurants.

There are about 70 thousand collections including historical relics, south China sea biological specimens, and ship models. The regular exhibitions are on historic figures related to the South China Sea, South China Sea Ecology Show, etc. So the Museum is a good place to know more about South China Sea ecology and history.

Reservation is requested for all visits:

All visitors must make reservation in advance and pick up the tickets with their passports. The Museum opens daily from 9 am till 5 pm, but closed on Monday. Phone Number for reservation is 0898-62605666.
