Day tour to Hainan Local Fishing Village & Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden

For an authentic experience on Hainan Island, book our Hainan Local Fishing Village Tour. Caddie, the owner of www.sunnyhainan.com, discovered the fishing village during her trip to Hainan Monkey Islet while taking the cable car. From above, she spotted the red-roofed houses floating on the sea and the fishing boats. Now, the fishing village tour is the most popular excursion organized by www.sunnyhainan.com and Caddie’s top recommendation for a genuine Hainan experience. The fishing village isn’t a typical tourist destination, and www.sunnyhainan.com is the only tour operator on Hainan Island promoting it as a day tour destination, aiming to showcase the true life of the local fishermen.

Fishing Village Lingshui Hainan

Xincun Fishing Village is located in Lingshui County, about a 1.5-hour drive from Sanya, steps away from Nanwan Monkey Islet. The beach near the fishing village is known as Clear Water Bay.

Our tour includes a visit to a local market, a seafood lunch at one of the floating restaurants on the sea, and an intriguing boat ride in the fishing village. The journey to the fishing village is also captivating, offering glimpses of local flora, fauna, children returning from school, and locals engaged in traditional activities.

Traditionally, Xincun Port is a fishing port in Lingshui, home to more than 600 red-roofed houses owned by the Dan Jia People, known as the Chinese “gypsies of the sea.” In Hainan, the Dan Jia People do not constitute an ethnic minority but belong to the Han nationality. Their origins can be traced back to the Qin Dynasty when their ancestors, primarily from Fujian and Guangdong provinces, navigated the winds.
